Great Hill Solutions is seeking a Revenue Cycle Modernization & Innovation Senior Solution Technical Expert, HIM Coding in the continental United States, remote authorized, to support the Defense Health Agency. The Senior Solution Technical Expert, HIM Coding assists the Military Health System client with optimization, standardization, and sustainment of Health Information Management and coding workflows within the MHS GENESIS electronic health record environment. This role ensures compliant documentation, accurate code assignment, optimized charge capture, and alignment of clinical workflows with Revenue Cycle Management objectives.

Roles and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Provide health information management and coding subject matter expertise to working groups and designated care areas across Military Treatment Facilities.
  • Assess, design, and optimize inpatient and outpatient coding workflows within MHS GENESIS to improve accuracy, compliance, and revenue capture.
  • Configure and validate automated routing logic, coding edits, validation rules, and charge reconciliation processes to reduce denials and rework.
  • Monitor updates to ICD 10 CM, ICD 10 PCS, CPT, HCPCS, and federal coding guidance and integrate required changes into workflow logic and system configuration.
  • Support continual improvement of coding workflows to ensure complete, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.
  • Perform Oracle Health Cerner configuration updates related to coding queues, encounter workflows, abstracting tools, and revenue impacting system logic.
  • Design clinical documentation and HIM workflows that incorporate business functions and downstream billing requirements.
  • Establish feedback mechanisms using analytics platforms such as Lights On, HealtheAnalytics, Power BI, or Tableau to identify coding trends, edit failures, and compliance risks.
  • Conduct coding audits, chart reviews, and quality assurance assessments to support audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
  • Support RCM functions including charge capture, clinical documentation improvement collaboration, denial mitigation, and workflow optimization.
  • Develop dashboards, executive presentations, analytic summaries, and memorandums using MHS data to inform DHA leadership and operational stakeholders.
  • Coordinate working groups and project teams, track tasks to completion, and assist with planning and execution of workshops and training events.
  • Collaborate with VA counterparts and contribute to interoperability, innovation, and joint workflow initiatives.
  • Develop reports and dashboards aligned to government priorities and legislative requirements.
  • Lead recurring deliverables, stakeholder engagement activities, and executive communications.
  • Track progress on MHS initiatives to support departmental compliance, audit readiness, and revenue integrity objectives.

Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD Public Trust clearance. Candidates must obtain approved adjudication prior to onboarding.
  • Due to government contract requirements, United States citizenship is required.
  • Four or more years of Health Information Management or Revenue Cycle Management experience, including coding operations, workflow optimization, system configuration support, troubleshooting, or project coordination.
  • Professional coding certification such as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS P, CPC, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience applying ICD 10 CM, ICD 10 PCS, CPT, HCPCS coding standards and federal compliance requirements.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with Oracle Health Cerner EHR configuration, coding queue management, workflow optimization, and issue resolution.
  • Experience supporting Military Health System, Defense Health Agency, or federal healthcare environments.
  • Experience leading small teams, mentoring colleagues, and providing performance feedback.
  • Experience supporting ticket queue systems, issue tracking, and structured problem resolution workflows.
  • Ability to independently lead development, implementation, and validation testing of coding related system builds.
  • Experience integrating coding workflows with clinical documentation and revenue cycle processes.
  • Experience designing and delivering HIM or RCM training, including remediation of Alpha II and SSI edit failures.
  • Strong understanding of clinical and business workflows, usability principles, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Ability to assess operational risks and translate business requirements into technical and non technical documentation.
  • Strong client facing skills, including preparation of concise deliverables and participation in stakeholder discussions.
  • Highly organized, self motivated, and effective in fast paced federal environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive level briefings and presentations.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, CAPM, CRCR, or advanced HIM credentials preferred.
