Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an High Voltage Electrician Supervisor without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common duties of a High Voltage Electrician Leader. I am capable of leading other workers, repair and maintain overhead and underground primary electrical distribution lines; identify issues with cable systems, existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, and equipment to locate and assist in correcting potential causes of outages; and perform general maintenance on a variety of commercial and industrial devices and equipment. At this level, I have minimally/common experience and am supervised without more than normal supervision - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
Education

- Serve as the first line supervisor over the Electrical Systems Section exercising supervisory responsibility over the work operations in that unit.
- Plan the use of workers, equipment, facilities, materials and tools on a day-to-day or project-by-project basis.

- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Class A Commercial Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.

- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
- Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.

- Physical Effort: Moderate to heavy physical effort required due to the size of the equipment involved. As supervisor, you may have to assist in lifts, carries, and sets up parts and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally heavier weights with assistance. Often must supervise employees and inspect repairs from ladders, scaffolding, platforms, and hard-to-reach places requiring bending, kneeling, and stooping. Subject to frequent cramped and awkward positions. Work requires prolonged standing and continuous movement of hands and arms.
- Working Conditions: Works inside and outside in all kinds of weather. Subject to sudden temperature changes. There is frequently exposure to dirt, dust, grease, noise, odor, smoke, and possibility of toxic fumes. May be exposed to explosive munitions. Subject to burns, cuts and electric shock. PPE is required daily including safety shoes, safety eye wear, and hearing protection. Other PPE may be required less frequently to address other working conditions, to include safety vests, respirators, hard hats, gloves and more.
