Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Configuration Management Specialist to serve as the configuration governance authority for highly complex enterprise information systems supporting a major federal logistics program. This role will lead configuration baseline control across the system lifecycle, oversee change management processes, and advise configuration control boards to ensure system integrity, compliance, and operational readiness.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in configuration management within DoD environments, along with hands-on experience in logistics data standards and EDI implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the Configuration Management Lead and Subject Matter Expert (SME).
• Establish and maintain configuration baseline control across system lifecycle phases.
• Manage functional, allocated, and physical baselines for complex systems.
• Facilitate and advise Configuration Control Steering Groups and Working Groups.
• Review engineering change requests and assess impacts on system baselines and logistics support.
• Maintain configuration control records, technical documentation, and audit artifacts.
• Coordinate with quality assurance and program management to ensure accurate product baselines.
• Prepare directives for change authorization and implementation.
• Support audits and compliance activities related to configuration management.

Required Skills:

• Minimum 10 years of relevant configuration management experience.
• Demonstrated experience leading or supervising CM teams.
• Expertise in configuration baseline control for large-scale information systems.
• Hands-on experience supporting programs using (Defense Logistics Management Standards (DLMS) OR ASC X12 EDI standards
• Experience developing and maintaining implementation conventions using EDIFECS SpecBuilder
• Strong understanding of change control governance processes.
• Relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority.
• Active IT-II Non-Critical Sensitive clearance (Tier 3) at time of submission.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience supporting programs within the Defense Logistics Agency
• Familiarity with DoD acquisition and lifecycle management processes.
• Experience supporting configuration audits and compliance reviews.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
