Managing computer network equipment and services. Also responsible for system administration of computers on network.

At GCI, we solve the hard problems. As a Network Engineer, a typical day will include the following duties:
Managing computer network equipment and services. Also responsible for system administration of computers on network.
Responsible for managing computer networks and network services:
- Design and document network architecture.
- Configure routers and managed switches.
- Install, configure and manage network services including LDAP, DHCP, DNS, File Servers, and License Servers.
- Perform daily oversight.
Responsible for computer system administration:
- Perform installation, configuration, and management of Windows and Linux based computer systems.
- Install vendor software patches.
- Update software repositories.
- Perform data backups and restorations.
- Provide end user support.
- Perform daily oversight.
Experience with network and system security:
- Manage user accounts and accesses.
- Perform vulnerability scans and report results.
- Perform system software patches and updates.
- Maintain system security plans.
- Interface with security personnel.
