AV Technicians

Job Description:
The Audio Visual (AV) Technician is responsible for installing, integrating, testing, and maintaining audioâvisual and video teleconferencing (VTC) systems across a variety of customer environments. This role combines handsâon technical installation, system configuration, troubleshooting, and crossâteam coordination to ensure highâquality, reliable AV solutions that meet organizational and customer requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Install/integrate/configure AV systems, including mounting & anchoring equipment, rack construction, and hardware setup.
- Pull/route/terminate fiber and copper cabling for AV/VTC systems.
- Install and support largeâformat displays and video wall systems.
- Interpret engineering drawings to implement AV system integration in accordance with technical standards.
System Testing & Troubleshooting
- Participate in system test readiness/support all testing events.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to AV, VTC, control systems, hardware, and connectivity.
Project Coordination & Communication
- Support installation planning by assessing manpower, staging, equipment, and tool requirements.
- Coordinate work activities with subcontractors, vendors, engineering teams, and customer representatives.
- Attend regular team meetings and maintain professional communication in sensitive customer environments.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to industry, organizational, and customer standards for installation, safety, and system performance.
- Maintain professional conduct within secure facilities.
Required Skills:
- 3–5+ years of related AV or VTC installation/integration experience.
- Experience with AV/VTC components, products, and systems.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including:
- Standing for 6–8 hours.
- Climbing ladders and stairs regularly (up to 15 ft).
- Bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling.
- Valid driver’s license/open to traveling to customer sites as needed.
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to read schematics/engineering drawings.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problemâsolving skills.
- Effective communication skills with customers, peers, and engineering staff.
- Ability to work independently and within crossâfunctional teams.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to highâquality installation practices.
Desired Skills:
- 3+ years of specialized experience in AV installation/configuration.
- Handsâon experience with: Crestron, Extron, QSC, Samsung, Thinklogical systems.
- AVIXA CTS or CTSâI certification.
- Bachelor’s in engineering, IT, computer science, or related technical discipline.
