Job Title: Joint Training Lead / Senior Instructor (JP 5-0)
Location: Arlington, VA
Overview: Mano Lani is seeking a Joint Training Lead / Senior Instructor to support the National Guard Bureau (NGB) J5-J with extensive experience to support planning, instruction, and administration of the DOMOPS Conference and Joint Planner's Course. This role includes preparing course materials, delivering instruction, supporting workshops, and compiling after-action and certification reports to ensure compliance with Joint training requirements. Mano Lani is an exceptional industry partner to the Department of Defense (DoD) and a leader in physical and cybersecurity, IT management, logistics, supply chain management, process improvement and development.
Key Responsibilities:
DOMOPS Conference Preparation: Compile and deliver electronic read-ahead packets, including agendas, draft plans, and training briefings, to state J-5 planners at least five business days prior to the conference
Joint Planner's Course Content Development: Develop and update instructional materials, read-ahead packets, course presentations, and applicable Joint Publications
- Submit updated materials to the designated Government POC at least seven business days prior to course execution, ensuring minimal revisions are required
Instruction & Workshop Support: Provide instruction for the Joint Planner's Course (up to 40 hours) and Department of War, Combatant Command, State National Guard, or Regional planning workshops (up to 24 hours)
After-Action Reporting: Prepare After-Action Reports (AARs) within 10 business days of each course or workshop, summarizing training activities, participant questions, feedback, and recommendations for improvement
Joint Qualified Officer Certification Support: Update and prepare course materials to comply with CJCSM 3500.03E and related policies for awarding 1.0 Joint Qualified Officer credit
- Submit materials and administrative forms to the designated Government official at least 14 business days prior to the certification submission date.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
BA/BS degree in a relevant field (e.g., National Security, Military Studies, International Relations); MA/MS preferred
8-12 years of experience in military or government course instruction, planning, or training support
Strong organizational, communication, and instructional skills
Ability to develop, update, and manage course content and related documentation
Familiarity with Joint publications, military training standards, and certification processes
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, electronic packet preparation, and virtual collaboration tools.
