In this role, you'll play a key part in supporting the Missile Defense Agency's (MDA) Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Production Team by bringing your cloud expertise to cutting‑edge defense initiatives. You will help shape and evaluate cloud archit ectures, gu ide solutions through design and implementation, and collaborate clos ely wi th government customers and prime contractors. Your work will support MDA's M&S, integration, and test efforts across Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Microsoft Azure environments. You may also contribute to analyzing systems engineering processes to ensure the successful integration and performance of cloud‑based capabilities. This position is located at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL.

Duties of a Senior Cloud Engineer may include:
- Develop and review Framework Software in the Cloud (SWIC) requirements, as well as Framework and Missile Defense System Interface Control Documents (ICDs), including those supporting the Objective Simulation Framework (OSF) Ground Test Integrated System Simulation (GTISS).
- Actively participate in Agile software development increment planning for the Framework, RepBox , and CTM programs, ensuring alignment across technical and programmatic objectives . Responsibilities also include drafting and reviewing technical documentation such as briefings, white papers, and engineering reports.
- Contribute to the strategic planning and continuous improvement of Framework, RepBox , and CTM Systems Engineering (SE) processes across the organization.
Qualifications
- AWS Foundational and Associate level certifications and/or Azure Fundamentals and Associate level certifications
- Knowledge of model and simulation (M&S) development
- Experience in Agile and Lean software development principles
- Experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Leaning (ML) concepts and applications
- Experience in software containerization development concepts and applications
- Experience in model and simulation requirements development
- Experience in model and simulation verification and validation
- Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
- AWS Professional and Specialty certifications and/or Azure Expert and Specialist certifications
- Experience in Radio Frequency (RF) and Infrared (IR) signature models
- Experience with environmental models and environmental states and effects
- Experience with missile defense system (MDS) and/or threat system simulation and model testing processes
- Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Experience with DoD and/or MDA acquisition and systems engineering
Education
- MS degree and 12+years of relevant experience
Clearance
- Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance
