BAE Systems is seeking an experienced and visionary leader to head our newly formed Digital Operations and Innovative Manufacturing organization. This leader is responsible for developing our digital and advanced manufacturing roadmap and carrying it through long-term deployment.

Key elements of this roadmap will include:
  • Developing consistent tiered metrics reporting capabilities.
  • Deploying factory visual management tools.
  • Managing operations tools include continued development and deployment of a common Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
  • Providing scalable AI solutions.
  • Partnering across the enterprise to mature data governance.
  • Aligning with engineering on digital threads between development and production environments.
  • Factory and automation and common test solutions.
The goal of this organization is to enable organizational scale, improve efficiency and enhanced decision making at all levels. Responsibilities of the role are highlighted below:

Digital Operations Strategy
  • Develop and communicate a comprehensive digital operations strategy and roadmap, aligning with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize digital transformation opportunities and develop business cases.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions.
  • Partner closely with engineering to mature the digital thread between design and production.
Operational Efficiency
  • Develop and execute a vision for automation and test systems that supports business growth and operational goals.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for automation.
  • Implement metrics and benchmarks to measure operational efficiency and track progress.
Metrics and Reporting
  • Develop and deploy a consistent tiered metrics reporting framework, aligning with functional KPIs and user needs.
  • Design and implement real-time data visualization tools, dashboards, and reports to support informed decision-making.
  • Conduct data analytics to understand performance and trends.
MES/QMS and Operations Tools
  • Lead the development, sustainment, and deployment of MES, integrating with existing systems and processes.
  • Develop and maintain standardized toolkits for manufacturing and supply chain functions, ensuring alignment with functional KPIs and user needs.


Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Significant demonstrated experience in elements Digital or Technical Leadership.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with experience in building and managing high-performing teams, and strong technical skills, including proficiency in data analytics, data systems, and digital ecosystems.
  • Experience establishing a vision, gaining cross-organizational support, and implementing it through change management principles, with excellent business acumen in strategic planning and operational management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, and demonstrate behaviors including curiosity, courage, and resiliency.


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience.


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $157911 - $268449

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
