MBA Consulting Services, Inc. (MBA CSi) is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Software Tester to join our team supporting the U.S. Postal Service's Retail Technology Programs within the Engineering department. This position is based at Engineering Headquarters in Merrifield, VA and plays a critical role in ensuring the quality, usability, and performance of IT solutions through all stages of the software development life cycle.

Responsibilities
- Testing and Quality Assurance:
- Thoroughly review project requirements and specifications to ensure a clear understanding of the product and its functionality. Proactively ask questions to clarify any ambiguities.
- Develop comprehensive test scenarios and test scripts based on requirements to cover all possible use cases and edge cases.
- Perform manual testing according to the designed test scenarios and test scripts to ensure the product meets the desired quality standards.
- Analyze debug logs to identify the root cause of defects and assist in troubleshooting issues.
- Create detailed documentation for identified defects, including steps to reproduce, severity, and impact. Follow up with the development team to ensure timely resolution.
- Re-test resolved defects to ensure fixes are effective and do not introduce new issues.
- Provide feedback on design documents to ensure they meet quality and functionality standards.
- Investigate and resolve defects found in production to minimize impact on end-users.
- Efficiently manage and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously.
- Testing and Quality Assurance:
- Oversee the setup and deployment of new systems at site locations.
- Image systems and coordinate timely shipment to designated sites.
- Evaluate workroom layouts and approve Bluetooth Access Point (BTAP) placements.
- Provide guidance and support for configuring IP addresses on the Postal network.
- Submit network change requests to enable communication between new systems and appropriate servers.
- Assist with sourcing and ordering necessary equipment from various vendors.
- Deliver hardware installation instructions, including cable routing; collaborate closely with site personnel to ensure proper setup.
- Offer step-by-step assistance for system configuration and connectivity testing.
- Conduct training sessions and provide ongoing support to Operations personnel.
- Troubleshooting & Site Support:
- Collaborate with developers and local IT teams to troubleshoot technical issues using command-line tools, data analysis, and hardware diagnostics.
- Respond to site requests including configuration updates and hardware problem resolution.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and a methodical approach to testing.
- Experience with manual and automated testing tools.
- Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Multi-tasking Abilities: Capable of managing several projects and responsibilities at once.
- Be able to troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions.
- Must be organized to keep track with multiple requests from different sites.
- Must have knowledge about networking and hardware.
- Bachelor's degree (preferably in a related field) with 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Proficient in analyzing and documenting functional/system requirements.
- Experience developing system test strategies, test plans, and test cases.
- Skilled in system testing, debugging, and reproducing reported issues.
- Knowledgeable in generating and maintaining SDLC artifacts and ensuring quality standards.
- Proficient in requirements traceability documentation and defect tracking/resolution.
- Experience with bug tracking systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to gather stakeholder input.
- Experience in technical writing, including research and documentation.
- Strong writing, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Section 508-compliant UI design
