What You'll Do:
As the Senior Risk Manager, you will support work within NAVAIR's Airborne Strategic Command, Control, and Communications Program Office (PMA-271). This position plays a critical role in supporting the acquisition, development, and sustainment of an ACAT I program by providing comprehensive risk management expertise in alignment with NAVAIR acquisition policies and processes.
In this role, you will work directly with program office leadership to identify, assess, mitigate, and monitor program risks while ensuring compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) and NAVAIR program management best practices. This is a senior-level position requiring deep familiarity with NAVAIR's acquisition framework and risk management practices.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, development, and execution of the PMA-271 Risk Management program in accordance with NAVAIR and DoD acquisition guidance.
- Identify, analyze, and track program risks across cost, schedule, and technical performance domains.
- Develop and maintain the program Risk Management Plan (RMP), ensuring alignment with Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) and program baselines.
- Coordinate risk reviews, facilitate working groups, and brief leadership on risk posture, trends, and mitigation strategies.
- Support risk-related activities within Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETRs), Program Management Reviews (PMRs), and other acquisition milestones.
- Collaborate with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to ensure risk and issue management are integrated into daily program execution.
- Provide senior-level recommendations to program leadership on trade-offs, risk tolerance, and mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with NAVAIR risk management processes and provide guidance on tailoring best practices to program needs.
Requirements
What You'll Bring:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience supporting NAVAIR acquisition programs, with at least 5 years focused on risk management or program management.
- Direct experience with NAVAIR/DoD acquisition processes, milestone reviews, and risk management frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to lead risk identification, analysis, and mitigation planning for complex, high-visibility programs (preferably ACAT I).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to brief senior leadership and facilitate cross-functional collaboration.
- Master's degree in a related field.
- DAWIA/Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act certification in Program Management, Systems Engineering, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with risk management tools and data visualization software.
- Ability to build positive, collaborative relationships across teams and with external partners.
- Effective communicator with strong verbal and written skills.
- Proactive, self-directed work style with the ability to operate independently.
- Analytical thinker with proven problem-solving capabilities.
- Highly organized, with the ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Security Clearance Requirement:
- This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
- The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $145,000 - $170,000 annually commensurate with an individual's experience, qualifications, and skill set. ASEC is committed to providing fair and equitable compensation.
