Jr. Software Engineer/BI Developer

Zachary Piper is seeking a skilled Software Engineer/BI Developer to modernize and automate enterprise Business Intelligence platforms. The role focuses on Data Warehousing, Tableau development, cloud-based data ecosystems, and migrating legacy BI environments-specifically OBIEE-to modern Tableau architectures. The position also requires strong automation skills using APIs, scripting, and AI-driven workflows.

Responsibilities

BI Modernization & Dashboard Development

• Build scalable, high-performance Tableau dashboards.
• Lead migration from OBIEE to Tableau, ensuring accuracy and quality.
• Establish dashboard design and performance best practices.

Requirements Analysis & Collaboration

• Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Participate in design reviews and roadmap planning.
• Work with engineers, analysts, SMEs, and senior stakeholders.

Prototyping & Solution Engineering

• Develop prototypes and production-ready BI solutions.
• Build customized, interactive Tableau dashboards.

Data Warehousing & Cloud Engineering

• Develop and maintain scalable Data Warehousing solutions.
• Use cloud platforms such as AWS, Databricks, or Azure.

API Integrations & Automation

• Implement API-driven ETL processes and automated data flows.
• Automate reports, data pipelines, and recurring BI tasks.

Communication & Quality Assurance

• Provide updates on project status, risks, and issues.
• Ensure BI deliverables meet quality and performance standards.

Qualifications

• Experience with data integration tools (Kafka, Airflow, Talend, etc.).
• Experience with serverless automation (e.g., AWS Lambda).
• Understanding of ML workflows or AI integrations in Databricks.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and Git.
• Experience in Agile environments using tools like JIRA.

Nice to Have

• Experience building AI model interfaces (Streamlit, Gradio).
• Ability to align ML solutions with business goals.
• Experience optimizing compute/storage for performance and cost.

Clearance

Must be a U.S. Citizen capable of obtaining a federal government badge and passing a background investigation. Active DOT clearance preferred.

Compensation

• Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 (DOE)
• Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), PTO, Sick Leave, Holidays. (As required by law)
