MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Refueling Complex Over Haul (RCOH) Mission Systems Functional Area Planner to join our team working in Newport, VA. This is an onsite position.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Work with the Mission Systems Integrated Planning Team, associated system working groups and SUPSHIP Newport News RCOH Maintenance Planning Manager (MPM) to create or modify all Mission Systems Authorized Work Package (AWP) changes into the AWP change database. This will include integration of all modernization, repairs and services work
  • Coordinate with numerous programmatic and technical organizations during work package development such as SUPSHIP Newport News, MPM, Project Team members and support organizations, CET, Program Office PMS312, System Commands, ISEAs, PARMs, and Ship's Force
  • Review all Mission Systems responsible Cost Data Sheets in the Q&A database for adherence to the AWP tasking and government requirements, material costs and manhours
  • Review monthly CDRL items related to labor budget and material costs
  • Participate in the Integrated Product and Process Development (IPPD) teaming structure for the RCOH
  • Interface with the project team executing the ongoing RCOH to understand waterfront decisions and review the Inspection Report/Field Modification Request (IR/FMR) database
  • Participate in and contribute to the appropriate Knowledge Sharing Network (KSN), which will allow the FAP to learn how to best plan their work package for execution
  • Travel up to 10%


Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent education
  • 10+ years relevant experience with aircraft carrier maintenance and operations, shipbuilding, ship repair business analysis, and/or other fleet assets
  • Knowledge of Combat Systems to include radars, antennas, communication and network systems such as CANES, NAVMACS, Waveguide, NSSMS, RAM launchers, DFGMC, SAT-2, TACAN, JTIDS, MORIAH, CBSP, MOBI, SPN-46, SPN-41, SLQ-32, MTC2


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Project/Program Management experience
  • Former US Navy Chief Petty Officer, Chief Warrant Officer, or Limited Duty Officer
  • Experience working with or at a shipyard, Naval Surface/Undersea Warfare Center (NSWC/NUWC), Supervisor of Shipbuilding Command (SUPSHIP), Regional Maintenance Center (RMC), and/or Type Commander (TYCOM)


Clearance Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government Secret security clearance or above.


Physical Requirements:
  • The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
