Responsibilities:
- Data Strategy and Architecture: Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with our business objectives and AWS GovCloud best practices. Design and build a modern data architecture that is secure, scalable, and reliable.
- AWS GovCloud Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for all data-related activities within the AWS GovCloud environment. Ensure that all data solutions are compliant with government security and regulatory requirements.
- ETL and Data Pipeline Development: Design and oversee the development of robust and scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using AWS Glue.
- Data Modeling and Database Design: Create and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models. Design and implement database solutions that meet the performance and scalability needs of the organization.
- Data Governance and Security: Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures. Implement robust data security measures to protect sensitive data in the AWS GovCloud environment.
- Collaboration and Leadership: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders, to ensure that data solutions meet their needs. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior members of the data team.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; equivalent, relevant experience will be considered
- 5+ years of experience in solution architecture, with responsibilities involving complex client requirements assessment, solutions design, and implementation within the technology services industry
- 3+ years as a lead solutions architect working on proposal responses for a federal systems integrator, managed service provider, or ISV/cloud provider, with consistently high technical evaluation ratings and a record of writing winning proposals
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively across functional groups to optimize product & service offerings
- Understanding of various aspects of United States Government/Department of Defense programs, including program and project management, staffing, engineering, Operations and Maintenance (O&M), quality, logistics, technology, and regulations
- Strong writing skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts and strategies in proposal responses
- Ability to conceptualize and develop visual graphics to support proposal narratives
- Project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
- Proficiency with Microsoft Visio, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Desired:
- Experience: 8+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or a related field.
- AWS GovCloud: Proven experience designing and implementing data solutions within the AWS GovCloud environment.
- AWS Glue: Hands-on experience with AWS Glue for ETL and data cataloging.
- AWS Services: Deep knowledge of a wide range of AWS services, including S3, Redshift, Athena, Lambda, IAM, and VPC.
- Data Modeling: Expertise in data modeling techniques and tools, including dimensional modeling, star schemas, and data marts.
- Database Technologies: Strong experience with both relational and NoSQL databases.
- Security Clearance: Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a public trust/T3 security clearance.
- AWS Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional or AWS Certified Data Analytics - Specialty.
- Infrastructure as Code: Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Big Data Technologies: Familiarity with big data technologies such as Spark and Hadoop.
- DevOps: Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or Software Engineering
About Tyto Athene
Compensation:
- Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically between $170,000-$185,000. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
