Position Overview
Quantum Science Solutions (QSS) is seeking a Data Scientist / AI-ML Platform Engineer to expand and operationalize Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) architecture within a secure cloud-based environment. This position focuses on graph analytics, cloud-native data science, MLOps, and user interface development to bridge research outputs into reliable operational capabilities.
The selected candidate will work closely with teams to understand existing data structures, build
scalable schema and data models, and deliver AI-driven services through stable, low-cost
production platforms. This role requires strong Python expertise, graph database proficiency,
containerization experience, and the ability to communicate technical insights across varied
audiences.
Key Responsibilities
• Expand and enhance AI/ML architecture and analytics capabilities
• Develop analytics user interfaces (UI) and operator-focused dashboards
• Bridge research outputs into operational teams by packaging models as reliable production services
• Design and implement schema and data models aligned to requirements
• Execute complex graph database queries to support analytical use cases
• Perform data analytics and transformation workflows in cloud compute environments
• Support containerized deployments and Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) pipelines
• Deliver stable, scalable, and cost-efficient production platforms
• Integrate closely with teams to understand and adapt to existing data structures
• Provide weekly highlights summarizing work progress
• Prepare and deliver technical briefings, presentation slides, and user guide documentation
Mandatory Skills & Experience
• Demonstrated proficiency in Python for data science and analytics
• Experience performing data analytics and data transformations
• Demonstrated experience executing complex graph database queries
• Experience working within cloud compute environments
• Demonstrated experience with containerization concepts
• Experience supporting Machine Learning Operations (MLOps)
• Demonstrated expertise in software engineering, cloud architecture, and UI design
• Experience supporting big data environments
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience briefing technical and non-technical audiences
Desired Skills
• Proficiency in SQL
• Experience using Cypher
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including Lambda
• Experience with Docker
• Experience building interfaces with Flask, Gradio, or Streamlit
• Combined Python and SQL experience for analytics and data engineering workflows
Education Requirement
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
