Description:
You will be the Sustainment Engineer for the Apache Fire Control (AFC) Sustainment Team. Our team safeguards the AFC fleet by forecasting, provisioning, and managing spares, repair parts, and support equipment to meet contractual obligations and keep aircraft mission ready.

What You Will Be Doing
As the Sustainment Engineer you will be responsible for analyzing AFC technical data, maintaining a dynamic replenishment parts model, and driving cost effective parts provisioning. You'll work side by side with program personnel, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to monitor schedules, costs, and delivery of spares, ensuring continuous availability for war fighter operations.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Analyze AFC technical data to determine spare part and repair part requirements, associated lead times, and life cycle costs.
• Build and continuously update a parts consumption model that captures historical usage, obsolescence trends, minimum buy thresholds, and future demand forecasts.
• Establish and track part replenishment schedules, ensuring compliance with contract delivery and cost targets.
• Generate weekly status reports on spares, support equipment, and repair part availability for senior leadership.
• Manage the end to end purchase requisition process, from creation through hand off to the Sub Contracts Manager for PO issuance.
• Coordinate with multiple disciplines (logistics, engineering, finance, contracting) to gather data, resolve discrepancies, and provide actionable insights.
• Interface daily with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to address issues, negotiate delivery terms, and drive timely resolution.
• Conduct on site supplier audits and travel as needed to validate processes, discuss program requirements, and strengthen partnership relationships.
• Track, trend, and report repairs performed at major suppliers, highlighting performance metrics and opportunities for improvement.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
• Appropriate technical degree from an accredited institution
• Good written and oral Communication Skills
• Problem Solving Skills
• Self-starter able to perform tasks with minimal supervision
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word)
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
• Ability to interface with a variety of information technology applications to create purchase requirements and to extract data
• Ability to review data and statuses and derive trends
• Ability to prepare and accomplish presentations

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
