Responsibilities:
- Analyze how traffic flows through roadway segments, intersections, and broader transportation networks to identify patterns and congestion points.
- Develop strategies to enhance traffic safety using smart signal technologies, sensor systems, automated traffic management, operational improvements, and targeted infrastructure upgrades.
- Utilize simulation software to build and evaluate traffic scenarios, implement hardware-in-the-loop testing, and create scripts or custom code. Integrate APIs to extend, automate, or tailor models, tools, and system functionalities.
- Validate the accuracy of traffic models, assess simulation performance, and ensure the proper functionality of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) components and equipment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of relevant work experience, 8 years of experience required in lieu of a degree
- Must be eligible to obtain a Department of Transportation Public Trust
- Experience supporting Federal customers
- Understanding of robotics & autonomous systems technologies
- Strong skills using Python in a Linux environment (preferred C++)
- Experience with unit and integration testing to support CI workflows
- Competency with data interface adapters (ex: JSON to XML) & API integrations
- Experience using Git for version control
Compensation:
- Total compensation based on experience level - $90,000-$130,000+ **based on years of experience**
