Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for a Software Application SMEto support mission-critical software modernization, development, and deployment efforts for the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center and US Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM)/J56.
This role involves advancing mission planning and execution capabilities for strategic deterrence through systems engineering, Agile/DevOps practices, and continuous integration/delivery methodologies. Contractors will be engaged in evaluating and enhancing the survivability, interoperability, and reliability of strategic weapon systems while contributing to planning documents, test and evaluation strategies, and rapid technology fielding efforts. This is a unique opportunity to work on mission-critical NC3 software and systems that shape national defense strategies, collaborating with diverse DoD and government partners to drive innovation and operational excellence in support of the strategic enterprise.

Responsibilities
- Support and develop acquisition reports, including statutory and regulatory reports (i.e., DAES, MAR, etc.)
- Support program management reviews, senior level meeting/reviews,s and other reviews as required
- Managesthe SMPES training program and contractor training staff
- Builds, coordinates, and produces all SMPES (and associated systems) training plans
- Coordinates all SMPES training programs across PM, FMs, Developers, and User organizations to ensure requirements meet operational training needs
- Manages all SMPES training processes to meet national-level requirements
- Conduct a training analysis to include assessment of existing formal and informal training programs. Identify training objectives and requirements and assess their impact on survivability, interoperability, and reliability.
- Develop or update training programs and materials based on training assessment findings, as well as new or improved processes, procedures, systems, or tools recommended as a result of the research and analysis performed
- Provides training management for the SMPES Process Owner to identify training needs for all developed capabilities and coordinates with developers to ensure contracted training follows established customer standards and formats
- Support and develop various briefings/schedules of program status and acquisition tasks for senior management
- Provide administrative support functions related to the above duties, including staff support for the senior managers and members of the organizational staff
- Research and compile information pertaining to certain projects/topics, prepare factual, clear, concise, complete, and appropriately coordinated written communications
- Ensure the leadership is kept informed of all issues of interest that relate to the mission organization
- Monitor progress toward the accomplishment of various taskings and initiatives
- Provide support by supplying the information and background for the preparation of program events
- Draft documents for the approval and signature of leadership.
- Disseminate program policy and specific initiative guidance for members of the organization
- Provide quality acquisition and program documentation (briefings, documents, plans, etc.)
- Coordinate, document, monitor, and support a variety of meetings and conferences, including, but not limited to, scheduling and set up of physical and virtual meetings
- Prepare background information and invite required meeting participants, ensuring documentation (such as attendance logs, minutes, and/or action items) of the meetings are filed in accordance with organizational policy
- Maintain scheduling documents and requirements for video and online conferencing set up and execution, including maintaining maintenance logs on the equipment and the corresponding instructions on equipment set up and meeting execution

Years of Experience: Minimum of 20 years relevant experience to include:
- Strong knowledge of systems acquisition and program management, combined with administrative skills to support the program office in managing and reporting on a program or portfolio of programs
- Knowledge of principles, policies, and practices of systems acquisition and program management, as defined in DoDI 5000.02 and 5000.75, as well as knowledge of roles and relationships within the DoD and the Air Force
- Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative techniques for gathering, analyzing, and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of acquisition programs
- Knowledge of support activities that assist the program manager in assessing what programs are within schedule and cost baselines.
