Target Salary Range: $66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

About The Role
Peraton is seeking an AI/ML Systems Support professional to provide technical expertise in application support, systems administration, and customer support for the Integrated Realtime Information System (IRIS)-a cutting-edge, AI-powered decision-support platform.

What You'll Do
- Support mission-critical analytical capabilities for defense and intelligence customers by resolving user issues, coordinating application maintenance, and ensuring database and data integrity across the IRIS ecosystem.
- Evaluate enhancements to existing platform systems, facilitate defect resolution, write and maintain SQL queries in live and test environments, and produce technical documentation for IRIS applications.
- Apply strong software fundamentals and database management skills to translate evolving user requirements into application modifications.
- Work with advanced AI/ML technologies while contributing to customer satisfaction and product quality.
- Provide technical expertise and customer service for IRIS systems, including user account management, technical support requests, system diagnostics, and documentation updates.
- Investigate and resolve application functionality issues across the IRIS technology stack, including the web application layer, infrastructure layer (AWS GovCloud IL5/IL6, AWS commercial), and data integration layer.
- Coordinate technical support operations, documenting system workflows and troubleshooting procedures for issues such as AI/ML feature functionality and data-pipeline performance optimization.
- Analyze data within IRIS PostgreSQL databases, identify data-integrity issues, and implement solutions across live and test environments.
- Provide SQL administration, including query development, optimization, and troubleshooting to support IRIS analytical capabilities.
- Identify opportunities to improve business-process efficiency through application enhancements, automation, and workflow optimization.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and recommend application modifications to meet changing user requirements.
- Provide minor programming support for IRIS improvements using Python, JavaScript, or related technologies to enhance platform functionality and automate operational tasks.
- Write and maintain technical procedures and documentation, including operations guides, user guides, system architecture documentation, and API documentation.
- Participate in product planning and contribute to the design phase of new IRIS software development, validating solutions in test environments and supporting deployment to production.
- Assist network administrators with application deployment and testing across IRIS environments, including RBAC configuration, system integration, and platform deployment activities.
- Serve as a liaison between customers, business units, and technical teams to resolve application issues and translate user needs into actionable technical requirements.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field (or equivalent combination of education and experience). HS and 4+ years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- Have 1+ years experience in application development, systems programming, database administration, or IT software support roles.
- Working knowledge of SQL for database administration, query development, and troubleshooting data integrity issues in live and test environments.
- Experience investigating and resolving application functionality issues with demonstrated ability to diagnose problems across application, infrastructure, and database layers.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python and JavaScript, with ability to provide minor programming for defect resolution.
- Experience producing technical documentation including operations guides, user guides, system specifications, and application procedures.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and ability to participate in system design and functional specification development.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to assess data integrity, identify process improvement opportunities, and recommend application solutions.
- Basic knowledge of cloud computing platforms, particularly AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to serve as liaison between technical and business teams.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
- Experience with PostgreSQL database management, query optimization, and SQL administration in production environments.
- Hands-on experience with AWS or AWS GovCloud environments including FedRAMP compliance requirements.
- Experience with frontend frameworks (React, Angular, Vue) and Python frameworks (Django, FastAPI) for web application development and automation.
- Understanding of DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience supporting or developing AI/ML platforms, analytics applications, or intelligence community tools with understanding of LLM-based systems.
- Experience with version control systems (Git/GitLab) and collaborative development workflows.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch, Grafana, or ELK stack.
- Active Secret clearance or higher with eligibility for TS/SCI.
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Solutions Architect Associate, or comparable certification.
