Responsibilities for the Network Performance Engineer - Full Scope Poly:
- Analyze end-to-end network traffic, identify bottlenecks, latency issues, and performance abnormalities, and deliver clear, actionable findings to the customer.
- Use flow data, packet-level visibility, and multi-source analytics tools to understand user behavior, network activity, and root causes of performance degradation.
- Develop scripts, automate tasks, and extract data sets to support reporting, troubleshooting, and rapid customer requests.
- Support device hardening and compliance efforts by identifying vulnerabilities, applying STIG requirements, and preparing POAM documentation.
Qualifications for the Network Performance Engineer - Full Scope Poly:
- 10+ years of experience as a Network Engineer or Network Performance Specialist supporting complex enterprise environments.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States and obtain and maintain an Active U.S. Government TS/SCI with Full Scope Poly Clearance.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, server behavior, infrastructure flow, and how traffic moves across distributed systems.
- Experience troubleshooting performance metrics such as latency, throughput, packet loss, bottlenecks, and abnormal traffic patterns.
- Hands-on experience analyzing flow data (NetFlow, sFlow, jFlow), exporting network data, and correlating multiple data sources for diagnostics.
- Skilled with scripting/automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell or similar) for data manipulation, reporting, and operational efficiency.
- Experience securing devices using STIGs, patching, vulnerability remediation, and documenting compliance (POAMs).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related discipline.
Compensation/Benefits for the Network Performance Engineer - Full Scop Poly:
- Salary Range: $200,000 - 270,000 depending on experience.
