Duties
As a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (MILITARY) (TITLE 32), GS-0201-9, you will serve as a technical and subject matter expert on military personnel management policies, procedures, and regulations; provide guidance and training to lower graded HR Specialists on various personnel actions, including promotions, reassignments, evaluations, and awards, to ensure alignment with mission requirements and organizational goals; create, review and develop performance standards, assist in setting expectations, and provide feedback on work quality, performance and progress for subordinate administrative personnel; prepare awards and disciplinary documentation for supervisory review and action as required; identify developmental needs and coordinate training to improve staff proficiency; assist in managing leave schedules to maintain adequate staffing levels; identify and refer complex military and civilian personnel issues to supervisor and work closely with 145 FSS, State Human Resources Office, and other supporting organizations, as needed, to find resolutions to issues; coordinate human resources and administrative support for military personnel within the unit; serve as primary contact for unit level military personnel matters, assisting supervisors and commanders with policies and programs; collect, analyze, and compile personnel data for reports and briefings; serve as lead for two or more specialized functional areas to include administration, personnel, unit deployment management, training, and program and special duties management in support of unit operations, ensuring compliance with Air Force policies; the incumbent provides limited supervisory oversight, including assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and providing feedback to lower-graded employees; these duties constitute less than 25% of the incumbent's time and are performed under the guidance of the GS-11 Supervisory HR Specialist; appraise subordinate workers' performance with the approval of the GS-11 Supervisory HR Specialist; recommend awards when appropriate and approves within-grade increases, subject to GS-11 review; initiate action to correct performance or conduct problems and effects minor disciplinary measures such as warnings and reprimands, with final approval from the GS-11; recommend action in more serious disciplinary matters to the GS-11 Supervisory HR Specialist; identify employee developmental needs and provides or arranges for training (formal and on-the-job) to maintain and improve job performance; perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements: Experience, education or training which involves the exercise of analytical ability, judgment, discretion, and personal responsibility, and application of a substantial body of knowledge of principles, concepts and practices applicable to one or more fields of administration or management. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : Must have at least one year of specialized experiences at the GS-07 level or the equivalent which provided a basic working knowledge of National Guard missions, organizations, and personnel programs. Must have a basic knowledge and experiences of personnel programs gained in a classroom or as an on-the-job trainee. Have knowledge-based competency of human resources business elements and can discuss terminology, concepts, principles, and issues related to this competency. Experienced in using references and resource materials and experienced in program functions such as, maintaining personnel records, counseling, or classification and assignments. Experiences may include performing personnel functions associated with preparing and maintaining position descriptions and manual records, personnel classification or usage, quality force management, managing personnel records and researching record data. Experienced in operating a computer and using varied computer programs.

- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
