Onsite Job - Material Handler 3 | Northridge, CA
About the Role
Indotronix is seeking a detail-oriented, proactive Material Handler 3 to join our team onsite in Northridge, CA. As a critical member of our logistics operation, you will ensure efficient material movement, inventory accuracy, and support mission-critical projects in a secure, fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a contract position working on a 1st Shift (9/80A) schedule. Active Secret Clearance is required.
Responsibilities
- Load, unload, and convey materials within plant, yard, or worksite using hand tools, forklift, dolly, or hoist
- Manage chemicals from receipt through safe storage, labeling, and documentation in Excel and Costpoint
- Identify, tag, and dispose of expired or excess materials in compliance with safety standards
- Monitor and replenish consumable inventory; track expiration dates and ensure availability of materials
- Collaborate with supply chain, engineering, and production teams to ensure timely material flow
- Perform cost and metrics analysis; track and categorize material-related issues and conduct time studies
- Create and consolidate weekly material status reports for team and management
- Prepare logistics documentation, manage requisitions, and maintain records of materials and equipment
- Coordinate transportation and allocation of materials between sites and locations
- Evaluate and recommend process improvements to optimize material handling and logistics
- Support floor personnel with daily logistics needs and maintain accurate inventory records in Costpoint
- Facilitate calibration cycles and ensure availability of in-calibration equipment
Required Skills and Experience
- High school diploma/GED with minimum 4 years' experience in logistics, shipping/receiving, warehousing, or inventory control
- Active Secret Clearance
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (sorting, filtering, conditional formatting, common formulas)
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and work on your feet for extended periods
- Eligible for forklift certification
Preferred Skills
- Active DoD Secret Clearance
- Experience with Cognos, CostPoint, MES, advanced Excel functions
- Previous forklift/reach lift/pallet jack operation
- Hazmat or chemical handling experience
- Experience in NGC manufacturing environments
- Willingness to work overtime when required
