Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking an Software Engineer with experience in Java and JavaScript to join our team in Chantilly, VA. We are a small, but highly empowered team where every team member is directly responsible for the success of our mission. In your role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining software applications across one or more projects using an agile development model.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with team members to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Develop and maintain the front-end and back-end components of web applications and web services.
- Assist with the testing and deployment of code in a secure cloud environment.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize code for performance and scalability.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
- Actively participate in the agile development process, including sprint planning and daily stand-ups.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, engineering, math, statistics, or related field.
- Solid understanding of web development fundamentals, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Experience with a front-end JavaScript framework such as Vue.js.
- Familiarity with at least one server-side language such as Java, Python, or C.
- Experience working with Linux-based servers and systems.
- Understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git, Mercurial).
- Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Knowledge of containerization and container orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Helm, Kubernetes).
- Understanding of RESTful API design principles.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
Desired Certification:
- Current certification compliant with DoD 8570 IAT level 3 (CompTIA Security+)
Required Clearance:
- Current Top Secret/SCI with CI Poly
- U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
