Systems Control Engineer
Program Description:
The new program is responsible for designing and testing advanced concepts for the US Government. This position will be responsible for controls system requirements definition, controls architecture development, integration and test, V&V of requirements, and system support throughout the product lifecycle.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively in a team environment to develop the overall closed-loop control system for large, complex optical systems.
Contribute to the development and refinement of control system requirements.
Serve as the controls Subject Matter Expert (SME) supporting electrical, mechanical, firmware, and software teams.
Support integration and testing of control loops within the full system.
Participate in developing verification and validation plans to ensure all control requirements are met.
Required Skills:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or related field
5+ years of experience programming in support of control system development.
Controls: GPS/Signal imaging through optical systems for line of sight pointing
5+ years of experience developing electronic equipment used in controls
Experience designing controls of Electro-Optical systems with pointing and tracking
Experience in control of optical systems (gimbals, fast steering mirrors, etc.)
Experience with electro-optical systems (EO systems, electro optics)
Desired Skills:
Experience serving as lead/senior controls engineer
Experience working in collaboration with other lead engineers in electrical, mechanical, optical and software design disciplines to implement the overall control system
