Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Sector is seeking an SCA Engineering Technician 3 or 4, Field Service Representative for our Grand Forks AFB, North Dakota Location. The candidate will work all aspects of RQ-4 Global Hawk systems to include airframe, electrical, hydraulic, fuel, pneumatic, flight control, propulsion, and landing gear.
Primary responsibility is that of a technical advisor, providing technical application and insight to Government personnel. The candidate must be qualified and physically capable to perform all required tasks. At times, the candidate may be required to augment Government personnel and perform scheduled & unscheduled maintenance, servicing, etc. No in-route or on-site formal training is provided-therefore candidates must have prior maintenance experience (although preferred, experience does not have to have been within the USAF). FSRs conduct technical analysis of product implementations, modifications, and enhancements to products in accordance with specific customer specifications and implementations.
They troubleshoot technical problems and issues, determine technical solutions in accordance with product and customer specifications, and recommend actions to company or customer representatives for coordinative product solutions. The FSR assesses product needs in accordance with customer specifications. May be required to conduct informal (e.g. over-the-shoulder) training for Government personnel. Provides data in support of, and reviews engineering investigations.
Works as an engineering liaison between NG engineering and the USAF, coordinating requests for depot-level repairs, electronic data and log/fault files, etc. Performs depot-level FSR-only tasks and depot-level Time Compliance Technical Orders. Notes recurring discrepancies or trends and initiates appropriate actions.
Potential Domestic travel 10% of the time
Basic Qualifications for Level 3:
- Associates Degree in an appropriate technical discipline and Two (2) years of specialized experience or 6 years w/o any formal education
- Strong background in Avionics
- Current US DOD SECRET security clearance
- Working knowledge of IMDS/CAMS maintenance data collection
- A basic knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
- Certified UAV Technician / Aircraft Electronics Technician
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior RQ-4 or Triton maintenance experience
- (FAA) Airframe and Power plant (A&P) desired
- Experience reading and using engineering drawings and data I performance of duties.
- Working knowledge of Air Force Instruction 21-101 (Aircraft and Equipment Maintenance Management)
Basic Qualifications for Level 4:
- Associates Degree in an appropriate technical discipline and 6 (six) years of specialized experience OR; 8 years of relevant experience w/o any formal education
- Strong background in Avionics
- Current US DOD SECRET security clearance
- Working knowledge of IMDS/CAMS maintenance data collection
- A basic knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
- Certified UAV Technician / Aircraft Electronics Technician
Preferred Qualifications:

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
