Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer for the Sentinel Guidance, Navigation & Control team. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program.
The selected engineer will be a Systems Engineering SME and responsible for driving technical rigor into work products for the Requirements, Interfaces, and Architecture teams for the Guidance, Navigation & Control (GN&C) Element. The engineer will be responsible for performing tasks and providing technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineers as they execute tasking involving interface definition, requirement decomposition, and compliance tracking.

Primary Level Salary Range: $152,900.00 - $229,300.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

- Drive closure of TBXs in GN&C Systems Engineering products and closure of requirement development
- Run trade studies (as needed) for integrated GN&C products
- Ensure horizontal integration across SE product teams
- Ensure consistency across architecture and requirements decomposition
- Provide support to environmental requirement development and test strategy
- Provide support to Major Program Events (MPEs) including but not limited to ARR, IDR, FDR, CDR
- Demonstrate technical skills, organization, effective communication, and problem solving
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) with 12 years of experience; or Master's degree with 10 years of experience; or PhD with 8 years of experience
- Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
- 5 years of Systems Engineering experience required
- 1+ years of experience in the full life cycle of Systems Engineering (requirements definition/decomposition, requirements/system verification, etc.)
- Background in Requirements development, MBSE and/or verification planning
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in requirements development on Sentinel program
- Background in Guidance, Navigation, and Control, Electrical Engineering design, or Software development
- Experience running trade studies and negotiating requirements and/or design features with the USAF customer
- Experience with complex system development on large programs
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Technical leadership experience in Systems Engineering
- Experience with Engineering Board Processes
- Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira and Confluence) or similar
- Experience with Critical Design Review planning and/or execution
- Experience with one or more of the following disciplines: Guidance, Navigation, & Control, Electrical Engineering design, Software Development, Hardware-Software Interfaces
