Lockheed Martin's Mechanical Products Talent Center is looking for a dynamic and industrious Mechanical Engineering Senior Manager to support National Security Space line of business Mission Areas that include: Global Communications and Navigation, Space Operations and Analytics, Space Security and Intelligence as well as Transport, Tracking & Warning. As the Mechanical Engineering Senior Manager you will lead a large Mechanical Engineering workforce in support of multiple programs within the NSS line of business. Leadership duties include technical direction, planning, tools, training, and staffing. This leader is accountable for their team's ability to hit budget and schedule commitments while achieving technical requirements.
• Manage Mechanical resources during Program life cycle including proposal support, trade studies, and program execution
• Develop vision and support the success of Mechanical Products within NSS, incorporating LM Space E&T strategies for continuous digital transformation
• Lead a team of Mechanical Engineering managers, including Spacecraft Structures Design, Mechanisms and Flight Sciences
• Provide inputs and ensure compliance with major program reviews including System Requirements Reviews, Preliminary Design Reviews, Critical Design Reviews, and Mission Success Reviews
• Provide hardware documentation compliant with customer requirements, Space Command Media and LM Space Best Practices
• Encourage open communication, customer satisfaction, and timely program status updates
• Engage with program leaders and Chief Engineers in the planning, proposal, staffing, technical baseline, cost, and schedule execution of programs
• Ensure staffing tool (e.g. VEMO) is accurate and staffed in a timely and responsive manner
• Some travel is required

Basic Qualifications:
• Spacecraft Design and/or Analysis related experience
• Design and Integration of aerospace hardware
• Experience in engineering project management including engineering release, cost, and schedule tracking such as Windchill, EPDM, CREO
• Experience supporting proposals including developing Basis of Estimates (BOEs) and staffing projections
• Active or Current Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI with Poly; US Citizenship Required
Desired Skills:
• Bachelor of Science or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline; or equivalent experience/combined education
• Thorough knowledge of aerospace structures hardware, knowledgeable in multiple mechanical systems (ex. flight, ground, packaging, or mechanisms)
• Experience in failure investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action disposition of aerospace hardware
• Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) and/or Control Account Management (CAM) experience
• Development program experience
• Risk and opportunity experience with an understanding of continuous improvement concepts
• Experience as a leaders of leaders
• Demonstrated ability to develop strong working relationships with a wide range of partners
• Active or Current TS/SCI with Poly

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $144,600 - $255,070. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
