Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a Summer 2026 Systems Engineer Intern. In this role you will execute the entire Systems Engineering "V" lifecycle, rotating through IV&V, fabrication, hardware design, and project management activities.
• IV&V: Help develop requirements and designs, applying Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) techniques with tools such as Cameo to model Reprogramming Laboratory (RL) system functionality and allocate requirements.
• Fabrication: Assist with the fabrication of consoles.
• HW Design: Contribute to hardware designs that will be deployed in our labs, gaining first hand exposure to project management processes.
• Project Management: Get a detail look at budgets and Project planning within the labs.
The successful candidate will acquire practical experience and foundational knowledge in system requirements development, Project Management, the systems engineering "V" process, and configuration/change management practices.
Requirements
• U.S. citizenship (must obtain a Secret security clearance).
• Ability to work in a facility that requires special access.
Basic Qualifications:
-Pursuing a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in
a related engineering discipline. (Preferred: Electrical
Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace
Engineering, or Computer Science/Engineering)
Desired Skills:
-Strong analytical, problem solving,
demonstrated ability to comprehend and work
successfully with complex systems
-Strong communication skills (written and oral)
and interpersonal skills
-Desire to apply critical thinking and innovative
ideas to complex issues
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
