You will be the Software Engineer, F-35 for the F35IAB team which is responsible for delivering and sustaining the F-35 In-A-Box software solution at NAS Patuxent River.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Software Engineer, F-35 you will be responsible for acting as the technical liaison between Lockheed Martin, the Joint Simulation Environment, and the U.S. Navy while ensuring the F35IAB product is correctly deployed and supported.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Monitor JSE activities related to the F35IAB software and report pertinent findings to Fort Worth staff.

  • Serve as the technical point of contact for JSE inquiries directed toward Lockheed Martin and vice-versa.

  • Execute software deliveries and ensure timely data flow between Lockheed Martin and JSE, including remote sites.

  • Troubleshoot installation issues, run software experiments, and facilitate clear communication among JPO, JSE stakeholders, and LM engineering.

Further Information About This Opportunity

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must possess an active Secret clearance to start.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in STEM discipline (Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or Systems Engineering preferred) or 15+ years relevant experience
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a customer-facing technical role
• 3+ years of experience with tactical aircraft
• Experience with Linux-based command line systems
• Experience with either JSE, AFSIM, or similar DoD simulation architectures
Desired Skills:
• MS Technical Degree in: Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or Systems Engineering
• Flight test experience
• Software-In-the-Loop (SIL) test experience
• Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) test experience
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in kill chain analysis
• Linux fluency
• XML fluency
• Python fluency
• Prior experience with Lockheed's MVDL product
• Strong technical communications background including active conflict mitigation and conflict management experience
• Demonstrated history of responsible self-tasking & self-management of workload without detailed or local oversight

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $134,000 - $236,325. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
