Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Systems Engineer Summer 2026 Intern. In this role, you will
- Modeling and analysis of physical systems in support of requirements validation, performance predictions, and verification activities
- Problem solving complicated analytical assignments
- Collaboration with various partners within and beyond your immediate group (Test, Quality, Production, etc.)
The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of
• Currently enrolled in Engineering program from an accredited university.
• Understanding of mechanical, aerospace, and/or systems engineering principals.
• Word, PowerPoint, & Excel computer skills. Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Basic Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's (or higher) program in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Systems, Aerospace, or a related engineering discipline.
US citizenship is required, with the ability to obtain & maintain a security clearance.
Familiarity with mechanical/aerospace/systems engineering principles; basic knowledge of data-analysis tools (Excel, MATLAB, Python, etc.).
Desired Skills:
Ability to work in a collaborative, highly integrated team environment.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated ownership of tasks and a drive to close them efficiently.
Basic CAD modeling experience (SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, or similar).
Interest in statistical analysis, reliability engineering, or systems integration.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
