  • You will be the command IT representative for NMCI/Flank Speed network operational environment, responsible for ordering new NMCI services and requesting changes to existing NMCI services.
  • You will resolve day-to-day NMCI/Flank Speed operational concerns and communicating NMCI/Flank Speed guidance from the USFF Contract Technical Representative (CTR).
  • You will be responsible for training, validating requests from all subordinate commands ashore, and identifying additional NMCI service requirements.
  • You serve as the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) developing and maintaining an organizational or system-level cybersecurity program to include cybersecurity architecture, requirements, objectives and policies and cybersecurity.
  • You will ensure implementation of cyber security measures and procedures, including reporting incidents to the Commander, Command Security Manager, and appropriate reporting chains and coordinating system-level responses to unauthorized.
  • You will be responsible for monitoring NMCI/Flank Speed network operations while providing technical support and administrative guidance to all subordinate commands as required ensuring adherence to established policy is maintained.
  • You will provide technical guidance and support in the procurement of IT equipment, support services and develop IT-related input required for the development and execution of the COMNAVSURFLANT Information Technology budget.

  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position; role code IT SPECIALIST NETWORK proficiency level INTERMEDIATE the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
  • Experience acting as the command's primary IT representative and technical authority for the NMCI/Flank Speed network environment.
  • Experience managing the full lifecycle of network services, including ordering new services, processing change requests, and resolving day-to-day operational issues.
  • Experience overseeing and managing all command network assets, including accounts, security groups, and file share integration.
  • Experience monitoring network funding, track service level agreements (SLAs), and reviewing and approving all network-related invoices to ensure fiscal accountability.
  • Experience serving as the direct liaison with NMCI technical representatives and vendors, escalating critical issues to ensure prompt resolution and maintain operational capabilities.
  • Experience providing 1st-level technical support and administrative guidance for network operations to command staff and subordinate commands.
  • Experience routinely monitoring network performance for operability, efficiency, data integrity, and security, and develop test plans to validate system and software operability.
  • Experience serving as the lead technical liaison for network infrastructure projects, coordinating planning, installation, activation, and operational support across all activities.

  • Attention to Detail - Perform validation steps, comparing actual results with expected results and analyze the difference to identify impact and risks.
  • Customer Service - Provides direct support to Program management, Service Execution, and Mission Support to highlight how decisions may impact security posture of cyber and communication infrastructures
  • Oral Communication - Suggest mitigation to Program Managers as appropriate
  • Problem Solving Works with others to mitigate/correct security deficiencies identified during security/certification testing identifying risk acceptance.
