This is a temporary position with an anticipated start date of May or June. The current end date is September 30, with possibility of conversion, subject to government approval and funding for new fiscal year.
Job Description:
Perform research, analysis, and interpretation of information on a variety of subjects concerning the established aspects of the cybersecurity field. Prepare and finalize documentation in accordance with Air Force policies and preferences. Interface with authors on recommended revisions to documentation. Develop configuration management strategies to manage technical documents in progress and electronic storage and archiving. The successful applicant will be responsible for editing technical documents and manuals, explain complex information in a clear and concise manner and working with scientific staff to ensure accuracy of product descriptions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- High level of expertise in writing and editing.
- Complete command of sources and research methods to develop authoritative information on programs and policies.
- Knowledge of regulations and policies affecting publications and standards.
- Review documentation to confirm adherence to specific company or customer-driven requirements, to include adhering to the Air Force Handbook - Tongue and Quill.
- Perform editing on documentation to include checks for format, clarity and overall cohesiveness.
- Publish formal meeting minutes.
- Tracking and distribution of work orders as well as providing general oversight on all projects.
- Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation.
- Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style of content.
- Manage updates and revisions to technical literature.
- Provide progress reporting documents and briefing materials as required.
- Manage administrative duties as assigned.

Required Experience
Required Experience:
- Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience:
- Bachelors Degree and a minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant technical writer experience in the field of cybersecurity and/or IT systems
- Associate's Degree and a minimum of 6 to 9 years or relevant technical writer experience in the field of cybersecurity and/or IT systems
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 10 to 13 years of relevant technical writer experience in the field of cybersecurity and/or IT system
- Passionate about delivering products that exceeds expectations
- High level of self-initiative and self-motivation with the ability to work under minimal supervision
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Good organization, decision making, and verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in small and large team settings to solve complex problems
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office products to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences
- Skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking.
- Tact and persuasion in overcoming pride of authorship when negotiating major changes in artifacts
- U.S. Citizenship required; Ability to obtain an interim DoD SECRET clearance prior to employment start date and within 4 weeks of job acceptance; Also the ability to obtain/maintain a final DoD SECRET clearance and ultimately obtain/maintain a Top Secret - (Single Scope Background Investigation)
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Current and active DoD Secret or DoD Top Secret security clearance highly desired
- Experience working in cybersecurity
- Ability to facilitate meetings including preparing agendas, presentations, meeting minutes, and action items
- Insatiable drive to understand unique technologies
- Coordinate personnel/resources in a diverse work environment.
