Database Administrator (oracle)

Markon is seeking a highly experienced Database Administrator to support and maintain enterprise database environments in a dynamic and secure setting. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Oracle database administration, high availability solutions, performance tuning, and database security.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and administer enterprise data repositories
• Manage, monitor, and optimize database system performance and availability
• Plan and execute transitions of development and production environments to new technologies
• Install database upgrades and critical patch updates in both test and production environments
• Support database development efforts, including pilot testing and implementation activities
• Ensure database object definitions are accurate, consistent, and technically sound
• Modify and customize commercial database programs to meet internal requirements
• Test all database changes in non-production environments prior to deployment
• Design, develop, analyze, evaluate, and implement Oracle databases, including:
• Database modeling and design
• Relational database architecture
• Metadata and repository creation
• Configuration management
• Utilize data mapping, data mining, and data transformation tools to support database design and optimization
• Analyze system requirements and perform source and process analysis throughout the database lifecycle
• Determine optimal data storage strategies and capacity requirements

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI w/ Full Scope Polygraph
• 10-14 years of database administration experience
• Extensive experience administering Oracle databases (11g, 12c, 19c, 21c)
• Experience working and scripting in Linux environments
• Strong understanding of Oracle High Availability (HA) solutions
• Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining:
• Oracle RAC
• Oracle Data Guard
• Experience with database development, including creating tables and stored procedures
• Proficiency writing SQL (including Transact-SQL)
• Experience with connection pooling technologies (ODBC, JDBC)
• Experience implementing Oracle Advanced Security options
• Understanding of database encryption solutions
• Experience working in structured development environments with scheduled application releases
• Experience with Oracle performance tuning
• Experience installing and maintaining PostgreSQL databases

Desired Qualifications

• Knowledge of Information Security (INFOSEC) and Information Assurance (IA) policies (e.g., ICD 503)
• Oracle Database Administrator certification
• Experience managing credentials and connections using Oracle Wallet
• Experience with database configuration management tools (e.g., Subversion or similar tools)

Salary Range

USD $190,000.00 - USD $210,000.00 /Yr.
