Markon is seeking an experienced Expert Network Engineer with deep expertise in Voice over IP (VoIP) technologies to support an IC Customer. This role requires a strong background in network engineering, voice and video systems, and secure communications within complex enterprise environments.
The ideal candidate will bring advanced technical knowledge, strong troubleshooting capabilities, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and senior government stakeholders.

Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise voice and video communication systems
- Engineer and support VoIP environments using protocols such as SIP, RTP, and H.323
- Design and optimize Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN) to support voice and video traffic
- Apply Quality of Service (QoS) principles to ensure high-performance voice communications
- Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN concentrators
- Support secure voice architectures, including Session Border Controllers (SBCs), TLS encryption, and secure call routing
- Integrate voice solutions with cloud platforms and hybrid environments
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and traffic analysis using tools such as Wireshark
- Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams to support mission requirements
- Develop and deliver technical documentation, reports, and briefings
- Present technical designs, concepts, and results to non-technical stakeholders and senior government personnel
- Apply structured engineering design processes to develop innovative, mission-aligned solutions
Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI w/ Full Scope Polygraph
- Extensive experience in network engineering and VoIP systems design
- Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP networking and QoS principles
- Strong experience designing and implementing LAN/WAN architectures
- Advanced experience engineering (not just implementing) voice and video technologies
- Hands-on experience with VoIP platforms such as Cisco, Asterisk, 3CX, or similar solutions
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting network infrastructure components
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting U.S. Government or secure enterprise environments
- Experience with cloud-based voice integration
- Familiarity with secure communications architectures and encryption standards
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, or Voice/Collaboration certifications)
