The Business Development & Marketing Intern will support the Proposal Manager and Business Development team with a wide range of proposal, marketing, and business development activities, including but not limited to:
- Assist with proposal development, including formatting, editing, compliance checks, and content support
- Create marketing and proposal graphics using Canva and other tools
- Develop and schedule social media posts aligned with company branding and BD priorities
- Support content writing and editing for proposals, marketing materials, and internal BD documents
- Assist with organization and maintenance of proposal and BD libraries (graphics, resumes, past performance, templates)
- Support marketing-related tasks such as branding updates, one-pagers, and capability statements
- Collaborate with BD team members to support capture efforts, opportunity tracking, and outreach activities
- Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail across all deliverables
- Accept direction from supervisors and work collaboratively with team members
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity in all work
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Education/Training (both required and desired):
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Current enrollment or recent completion of a degree program in Marketing, Communications, Business, Graphic Design, or a related field
Experience:
- 0+ years of professional experience in the required task area
- Must have a basic understanding of work to be performed
- Interns will work 15 - 25 hours per week; summer interns will typically work 40 hours
- Experience with social media marketing and content creation
- Experience using Canva to create graphics, social media posts, and marketing materials
- Strong writing and editing skills with high attention to detail
- Video editing or short-form video creation experience is a plus
- Familiarity with proposal development or government contracting is a plus
- Marketing or branding experience is a strong plus
Preferred Experience and Knowledge:
- Knowledge in creating custom SharePoint solutions with SharePoint and Power Platform out of the box features
- Knowledge in HTML, XHTML, JavaScript, CSS, XML jQuery, and REST APIs
- Knowledge in SharePoint Designer and InfoPath
- Strong customer service/client facing skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Microsoft GCC High experience is a plus
Security:
- Must be a US citizen
- Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required
Physical Requirements
- Able to occasionally reach with hands and arms
- Prolonged periods of computer screen use, while sitting or standing at a desk
- Adhere to safety protocols when in work areas requiring use of PPE (e.g. eyewear, gloves, masks, hearing protection, steel toed shoes, etc.)
- Able to safely lift and carry up to 20 pounds at a time
