  • You will lead Navy-wide digital public affairs and engagement efforts for CHINFO Headquarters.
  • You will manage the portfolio and team responsible for producing, approving, and disseminating timely, accurate, and authoritative content across official Navy digital platforms in alignment with DoD and Navy Public Affairs and Web policy.
  • You will serve as a senior Public Affairs subject matter expert and advisor.
  • You will provide guidance to CHINFO leadership on digital communication strategy, web program management, emerging issues, and misinformation response.
  • You will provide guidance on audience engagement to support national defense objectives and protect the Navy's credibility and public trust.
  • You will direct daily digital operations, including web and social media workflows, ensuring operational continuity during emerging crises, viral events, and high-visibility issues
  • You will advise leadership on risk, messaging posture, and recommended courses of action.
  • You will Manage, develop, executes, and continuously refines Navy's enterprise public web program.
  • You will ensure compliance, align content with digital platforms, determine effective engagement strategies and measure performance of Navy's digital platforms.
  • You will provide leadership, quality assurance, and mentorship to public affairs professionals and coordinates with executive level personnel.
  • You will establish the best practices in content development, editing, visual design, and platform management while fostering a professional, mission-focused digital workforce capable of operating in a dynamic information environment.

Qualifications

GS-14:
Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the federal service that demonstrates advanced digital public affairs and strategic communication expertise in a DoD, military, or comparably complex organization. Specialized experience includes leading or managing official web and social media programs; planning, developing, approving, and disseminating enterprise-level digital content and narratives; directing or overseeing daily digital operations such as news desks, social media workflows, or content approval processes; advising senior leaders on digital communication risk, emerging or viral issues, and misinformation response; coordinating digital messaging across multiple organizations or echelons; and evaluating digital communication effectiveness using analytics, performance measures, or audience insights. Experience must reflect responsibility for high-visibility, time-sensitive digital communication efforts that directly support organizational mission objectives.

GS-13:
Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the federal service that demonstrates professional digital and social media public affairs experience in a DoD, military, or similarly complex organization. Specialized experience includes executing or supporting official digital and social media communication programs; developing and publishing digital content or campaign materials; coordinating content, understanding or web program management best practices ; monitoring social and digital environments for emerging issues or misinformation and recommending communication responses, and using analytics or engagement data to assess and improve communication effectiveness. Experience must involve timely, high-visibility digital communication efforts and regular collaboration with public affairs professionals and leadership.
