Duties

SUMMARY:
PRIMARY PURPOSE: To provide continuous, world-class infrastructure and base support in order to enable global Space Force mission Deltas and other space and homeland defense mission partners to conduct combat operations.

DUTIES:
  • Explains team goals and objectives to assigned team members and assist team in organizing to accomplish work.
  • Communicates with parent on a regular basis.
  • Develops and implements daily lesson plans.
  • Follows established procedures for preventing, treating, and reporting all child injury, illness and/or abuse.
  • Provides a classroom environment conductive to the prior care and learning for children.
  • Maintains a separate folder on every child in attendance at the center.
  • Exhibits age-appropriate staff-child interactions and expectations of behavior.
  • Applies quality techniques to better provide total quality service.

    • This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing
    • Work requires walking, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, lifting/carrying children and operate physical exertion as well as standing for long periods of time. The incumbent works in a child development
    • facility and may be required to rearrange furniture and lift/carry children weighing up to 40 pounds
    • This is a Mission-Essential position performing a Mission-Critical-Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions
    • Position is not Centrally Managed and PCS is not authorized
    Qualifications

    In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, for the GS-1702, Education and Training Technician Series.

    SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NJ-01 or equivalent in the Federal Service. Specialized experience must include I have, or within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement will have, at least 3 years of general experience, 1 year of which is equivalent to Federal experience at the next lower grade (GS-04), level, pay band (NH-01), or equivalent (pay schedule, pay band, etc). Specialized experience includes demonstrating skills in critical thinking in identifying, analyzing, and solving complex issues; displaying personal accountability in leading, overseeing, guiding, and/or managing programs and projects within assigned areas of responsibility; planning and conducting functional technical activities for projects/programs; identifying and resolving conventional problems which may require deviations from accepted policies or instructions; working with customers to develop a mutual understanding of their requirements; monitoring and influencing cost parameters or work, tasks, and projects; and establishing priorities that reflect mission and organizational goals.

    EDUCATION: Applicants must have four (4) years successfully completed education above high school. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
    1. Knowledge of Child Development regulations, procedures, and processes.
    2. Knowledge of early child development theory, methodology, and practices related to physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development.
    3. Knowledge of Child Development Center regulations, programs, and operations.
    4. Ability to develop creative and innovative activity and special program plans.
    5. Ability to promote and foster effective working relationships with others and to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
    6. Ability to ensure the safety and hygiene of children through constant supervision, effective arrangement of space, and proper management of equipment.

    PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

    VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
