As the Senior Systems Engineer, you will provide support to our government customer at NAWCTSD in advancing the Navy's Fleet Synthetic Training (FST) capabilities. This role sits at the forefront of Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) training integration, ensuring our Sailors train as they fight, with high-fidelity, interoperable systems that replicate real-world operational environments.

What You'll Do:
- Provide senior-level systems engineering leadership across current and emerging LVC training capabilities supporting the Fleet.
- Translate operational needs into measurable, traceable, and testable system performance requirements.
- Conduct and lead analyses supporting: requirements development and traceability; engineering feasibility and system affordability; reliability, maintainability, and testability; systems integration and interoperability; vulnerability and susceptibility assessments.
- Integrate complex technical parameters to ensure compatibility across distributed physical and functional components.
- Support integrated training device coordination, including data preparation, interface alignment, and validation across distributed training environments.
- Partner directly with government program offices, SETR stakeholders, and technical teams to drive mission-aligned outcomes.
- Travel approximately 6-8 times per year in support of testing events, integration efforts, and stakeholder coordination.
Requirements
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline, required.
- Minimum 5 years of practical systems engineering experience supporting modeling and simulation within training or training systems domains.
- At least 2 years of direct experience supporting DoD training and/or training systems acquisition programs.
- Experience supporting engineering disciplines such as: reliability and maintainability; EMI; logistics and sustainment; cost estimating and risk analysis; human factors; statistics and program funding.
- Demonstrated familiarity with NAVAIR acquisition processes and the Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) process, including requirements traceability, design reviews, test and evaluation, certification, logistics coordination, and sustainment planning.
- Working knowledge of LVC and distributed simulation tools and protocols such as: Joint Semi-Automated Forces (JSAF); Next Generation Threat System (NGTS); FACTT Suite; ASTi radios; JBUS/FOMs; HLA/DIS protocols.
- Ability to build positive, collaborative relationships across teams and with external partners.
- Effective communicator with strong verbal and written skills.
- Proactive, self-directed work style with the ability to operate independently.
- Analytical thinker with proven problem-solving capabilities.
- Highly organized, with the ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Security Clearance Requirement:
- This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active Top Secret clearance. Selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $170,000 - $185,000 commensurate with an individual's experience, qualifications, and skill set. ASEC is committed to providing fair and equitable compensation. The low end of this salary range reflects a candidate who meets all minimum requirements.
