About this position:
iWorks Corporation is seeking a Senior Tanium Engineer to architect, optimize , and lead advanced implementation of the Tanium platform for our federal client. This individual will serve as a senior technical contributor responsible for designing scalable Tanium solutions across complex enterprise infrastructures to support cybersecurity, compliance, an d operatio nal objectives .
The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on Tanium engineering experience, a deep understanding of federal cybersecurity compliance frameworks, and the ability to operate effectively within Agile delivery teams using Jira. This role requires a proactive technical leader who can mentor team members, automate operational processes, and collaborate closely with cybersecurity and infrastructure stakeholders.
Salary Range: - commensurate with the candidate's skills, experience, location, and qualifications.

On a day-to-day basis, you will:
- Architect, implement, and optimize Tanium infrastructure and modules (Asset, Deploy, Patch, Comply, Discover, etc.) within large-scale distributed environments.
- Lead continuous compliance initiatives using Tanium aligned with STIG, NIST, RMF, and FISMA requirements.
- Develop advanced Tanium queries, automation workflows, integrations, and scr i pt ing solutions to streamline security operations and reporting.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers; conduct technical reviews and knowledge transfer sessions.
- Serve as a senior contributor within Agile teams - participating in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and Jira-based workflow management.
- Support vulnerability management and incident response activities leveraging Tanium capabilities.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, IT operations, and compliance teams to refine system architecture and performance metrics.
- Support both on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure, including Oracle Cloud environments where applicable.
Required Education/Qualifications:
- Active Secret Clearance .
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on Tanium engineering/administration experience .
- Experience designing and managing Tanium infrastructure across enterprise environments.
- Strong knowledge of federal cybersecurity frameworks (STIG, NIST, RMF, FISMA).
- Experience with automation, scr i pt ing , and platform integrations .
- Experience working within Agile teams and Jira-based workflows.
- Experience supporting hybrid environments (on-premises and cloud).
- DoD 8570 IAT II Certification (e.g., Security+ CE or equivalent).
- Strong communication skills with experience collaborating across technical and mission teams.
