Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking an Experienced Quality Systems Specialist (Level 3) (F/A-18 Quality Records) to support the effort at the Boeing San Antonio, TX site.

This position requires significant interface with government customer representatives and maintaining a collaborative and positive relationship.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and control F/A-18 build, quality, and inspection records to preserve the integrity of as-built product configuration and ensure retrievability in compliance with contract, customer, regulatory and company requirements.
  • Reconcile erroneous and incomplete data entries by conducting database queries and record audits to ensure all production records are accurate, complete and accounted for.
  • Assemble and deliver traceable data packages, log books and build documentation to provide clear visibility of product build status for rollout, flight and/or delivery.
  • Provide timely product build status and documentation support to production, engineering, flight operations and delivery stakeholders.
  • Monitor and mentor less experienced employees; review work for accuracy and adherence to established processes and procedures.
  • Develop, implement and improve documentation processes, procedures and work instructions to ensure integrity and consistency of the product build record process.
  • Create, maintain and communicate quality directives, policies, processes, procedures and metrics to ensure deployment of program, contract, regulatory, customer and international standard requirements.
  • Analyze process data, performance metrics, models and flows to identify root causes of quality and documentation issues and recommend improvements.
  • Plan and execute internal and supplier hardware, software and system-level audits to verify compliance with the quality management system, configuration assurance, business and customer requirements; document and report findings to management.
  • Compile, research and analyze performance reports and process control statistics to drive continuous improvement and inform management decision making.
  • Maintain records storage, shipping logs and record retention activities to assure documentation retrievability and compliance with applicable requirements and audits.
  • Work under limited to general supervision, exercising independent judgment on complex quality problems, and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely resolution and program compliance.


Basic Qualification (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams or projects
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • 3+ years of experience in collaborative problem solving, building lasting relationships & proficiency in written and verbal communication
  • Prior experience with Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) 4790.2 requirements


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • USN/USMC (AZ/6046) Records experience
  • System Administrator/Database Administrator Experience
  • Technical Directive Coordinator/Maintenance Control Experience
  • F/A-18 or EA-18 operations and maintenance experience
