Duties

As a CONFERENCE PLANNING SPECIALIST at the GS-0301-12 some of your typical work assignments may include:
  • Plan, organize, and execute large conferences, workshops, seminars and other events.
  • Manages and oversees the daily operations of the command's primary conference center.
  • Serves as the Operations and Plans Directorate alternate facilities coordinator.
  • Manages the execution of conferences to ensure quality of the presentations, agenda, and reliability of the physical aspects of events.
  • Ensures sufficient support personnel are available, including coordination of security, audio/visual aids and equipment, logistics, space arrangements and administrative requirements.
  • Develops and publishes conference and event agendas.

  • This position is designated by the Air Force as a Test Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program
  • Travel and relocation expenses, if approved, will be paid IAW JTR and AFMAN 36-606
Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-12, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service:
  • Planning, organizing, and executing large conferences, workshops, and seminars.
  • Ensures quality of the presentations, agenda, and reliability of the physical aspects of events including reviewing speaker's presentation, reports, and handouts to ensure information adequately address the topics and meets conference intent.
  • Coordinates security, ensures set-up of audio/visual aids and equipment, logistics, space arrangements, and administrative requirements.
  • Provides training for the use of Defense Transportation Systems such as: SMS, TRANSVIZ, GTN, Logbook, and JOPES.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
