As a Security Guard - Part-Time Patrol Rounds in Herndon, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Aero/Defense, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at an aero and/or defense location, you will monitor access points, complete routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence that helps to reduce security-related incidents. You will support badge and visitor access control, respond to alarms and reports, and document activity using computer or tablet tools. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or contractors by following site-specific security-related procedures, access requirements, and post orders at an aerospace and defense location.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to identify unusual activity, unsecured doors, and/or potential hazards.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting concerns, assisting with emergency response activities as directed, and/or coordinating with onsite personnel and public responders when requested.
• Monitor and/or operate security-related systems such as alarms, cameras, radios, and access control points, and complete required checks and communications during the shift.
• Document observations, patrols, incidents, and/or policy violations in daily logs and reports, and communicate updates to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts per site-specific procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card/license is preferred.
• Being comfortable using computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
