Participates in build, design, configuration, integration, maintenance, training, and test of small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS).
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)
- Participates in rapid prototyping for the design process for drones*
- Make recommendations for modification during the design process based on feedback from previous testing results to meet desired specifications.*
- Performs assembly of mechanical and electrical drones, integration and test, and buildup of assemblies & subassemblies*
- Uses a variety of machine shop tools and other items including CNC mills, 3D printers, etc.
- May use CAD tools to assist in designing models for drone assembly*
- Documents processes and build techniques *
- Provides technical support to stakeholders and troubleshoots issues*
- Assists in training and curriculum development
- Participates in testing, data collection and analysis*
- Prepares reports for leadership discussions on the process and recommends process improvement*
- Travel for field testing and/or project meetings may be required

Required Experience
Required:
- Associate's degree in technical related field, or equivalent experience
- 2 or more years of experience in electrical/electronic assembly, equipment maintenance/repair, or related experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of electrical and mechanical components required
- Knowledge of CAD tools and 3D printing
- Previous experience reading schematic drawings and other manufacturing documentation.
- Willing and able to travel up to 10% for field testing or project meetings if necessary
- Must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance within 6 months of hire ; US Ciitizenship required
Preferred Experience:
- Familiarity with drones and or Remote Control(R/C) experience preferred
- Previous experience working at a DoD contractor or aerospace environment
