This position supports the Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) program and related Strategic Programs as a Staff level Quality Engineer. In this role, you will perform as a lead quality engineer across two programs within a rapidly growing part of our Strategic Missile Defense (SMD) business. You will analyze processes and drive actions that reduce variation and improve consistency across engineering, procurement, production, and quality processes. You will establish the core quality assurance requirements and mission assurance plans on these missions or coach others on how to do so.
You will utilize Quality Engineering methods and leadership to evaluate and initiate actions to identify and control sources of variation detrimental to quality, cost, and schedule targets.

What will you be doing in this role?
• Lead root cause analysis and drive effective corrective action to improve processes
• Analyze and generate quality metrics that might detect actionable trends in our processes
• Develop core program mission assurance requirements and guide engineering counterparts to meet those requirements
• Shape and lead process improvement strategy to drive continuous improvement
• Collaborate with Engineering counterparts to review, edit, and approve drawings
• Collaborate with Supply Chain Quality to proactively shape our supply chain requirements and improve supplier performance
• Travel up to 25% may be required

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited college in a technical discipline (e.g., engineering field) or equivalent discipline (e.g., math, physics, chemistry, biology).
• Possess ability to comprehend and interpret drawings, work instructions, or specifications.
• Ability to manage a project or leading a process improvement
• Demonstrates thorough attention to detail
• Experienced with project management
• Experienced leading or conducting Root Cause Analysis
Desired Skills:
• Green Belt Trained and certified
• Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
• Deep knowledge of lean manufacturing and quality
optimization in a production environment
• Deep knowledge of PR/MRB process
• Experience with SAP or VECAMS and data analytics
to report trends and achieve results
• Resourceful self-starter possessing a learning
orientation
• Leadership experience, prior team lead, and experience training / mentoring others
• 8+ years of related experience
• Secret clearance

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $104,500 - $184,115. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
