Description:Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Systems Integration and Test Engineer to join our team in Courtland, AL! We are seeking a detail-oriented individual possessing excellent technical skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment. This position will perform a variety of functional tests supporting the manufacturing of ordnance components for leading-edge aerospace programs such as Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) and Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM).
This position is to support our first shift on a 4x10 schedule: Monday-Thursday 0600-1630. However, the position may require periodic or unscheduled overtime and/or nonstandard workweek depending on program schedule requirements and equipment availability.
Summary of key duties for this position:
• Support the development of proposals and test plans for FBM/THAAD programs
• Develop, refine, and maintain test plans, procedures, and documentation
• Execute tests, including handling of ordnance, and support mission operations
• Direct the collection and assembly of all fixtures and components; installation of instrumentation mounts and accessories on test components and fixtures, and set up of high speed cameras to obtain test data
• Operate related equipment; conduct tests and report data in a prescribed format
• Construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, diagnose, and maintain equipment, components, devices, or systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful testing and integration of systems
Basic Qualifications:
• Experience with or willingness to learn how to write and execute test procedures in a production environment
• Willing to work with and around explosives
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
• Must be a United States citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to produce technical documents, test plans, procedures, and reports
Desired Skills:
• Bachelor's Degree (Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred) or equivalent experience/combined education
• Knowledge of procedures related to explosive tests, handling methods, and safety rules and regulations pertaining to storage handling and use of explosives and ordnance devices
• Knowledge of explosives and their characteristics, including ammunition handling, storage and loading
• Prior experience writing test procedures
• Prior experience with ordnance function testing
• Prior experience with shock and vibe testing
• Active Secret Clearance
• Work experience in the Aerospace and/or Defense industry
• Prior Certified Test Conductor (CTC) or industry equivalent
• Experience working with SAP, EPDM, DOORs, CREO, CAMEO, Automation Framework, or industry equivalent(s)
• Ability to maintain process discipline in a dynamic and fast paced environment
• Demonstrated teamwork and interpersonal skills
• Excellent verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build solid relationships with team members
• Hands-on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal analyzers, power supplies, torque wrenches)
