Description:Role Overview
Lockheed Martin Space is seeking an Experimental CNC Machinist to support precision manufacturing in a production and development environment. In this role, you will machine and inspect complex parts to exacting specifications, supporting spacecraft and space-related programs that demand accuracy, consistency, and collaboration.
You will work with CNC machining centers, engineering documentation, and manufacturing teams to produce high-quality components while contributing feedback that helps improve processes and efficiency.
This position is based onsite in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.
Key Duties / Responsibilities
• Machine, fabricate, and assemble parts according to engineering prints and operation sheets using CNC equipment
• Set up and operate horizontal and vertical CNC machining centers
• Perform machining operations such as drilling, milling, boring, and tapping
• Interpret Computer-Aided Design (CAD) data, prints, and sketches
• Verify Numerical Control (NC) code during setup and execution
• Perform secondary operations during machine cycles, including deburring and straightening
• Inspect parts before and during production using standard measuring tools such as gauges, micrometers, indicators, calipers, and depth gauges
• Select, install, and adjust cutting tools and machine offsets
• Provide feedback to Manufacturing Engineers on processes, tooling, and fixturing to support efficient production
• Analyze machining results against performance targets and communicate job expectations for production runs
• Maintain coolant levels and perform minor preventive maintenance on equipment
• Support production schedules by working overtime, weekends, alternate shifts, or off-Fridays when required

• Hands-on manufacturing environment with CNC machining equipment

Basic Qualifications:
Candidates must meet all requirements listed below.
• Active Secret security clearance
• Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and technical drawings
• Working understanding of G-code and M-code used in Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining
• Ability to work varying shifts, including alternate schedules as production needs require
• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 1 year of related machining or manufacturing experience
Desired Skills:
These skills are helpful but not required.
• Experience with Siemens 840D control systems (Celos)
• Experience with Mazatrol controls
• Familiarity with Mastercam or NX programming software
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
