Description

Greenfield Engineering, a Saalex Company is seeking a Avionics Engineer in Patuxent River, MD. Saalex is an Engineering and Information Technology Services company with a focus on Test Range Operations and Management, Engineering and Logistics Services, Data Analytics and Business Intelligence Services and Information Technology Services.

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: $135k-$155k Annually (depending on experience)

Work Location: Fully onsite.

Essential Functions:

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting all Data Loader Systems subject matter. This subject matter includes, but is not limited to understanding of the DTU-700, DTU-7100, ADTS-101/102/103/701/702 variants, development of new technologies, and maintaining an understanding of DoD and industry standards. You will provide direct engineering support to NAWCAD Core Avionics Engineering, programs and platform customers. You will be responsible for the engineering and technical management efforts through the acquisition process, concept formulation, production, testing, and sustainment during service use. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Planning and development of all system technical requirements
  • Develop and implement engineering program plans
  • Conduct testing and evaluation of avionics equipment installed on aircraft
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful program development and deployment
  • Provide engineering expertise for the design and configuration of lab development and test environments
  • Coordinate technical work efforts across multiple platform, customers, vendors, and technical SMEs
  • Other duties as assigned or required


Requirements

Required:
  • Proficiency in Avionics systems design and implementation
  • Knowledge of DoD regulations and standards related to Avionics
  • Experience in the system integration laboratory environment
  • Familiarity with Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) process, risk analysis management, and life cycle management


Desired:
  • Knowledge of Data Loader Systems
  • Introductory knowledge of NSA and NIST encryption standards and practices
  • Systems integration analyses of all avionics hardware to ensure compatibility of all physical, functional, and program interfaces in a manner that optimizes total avionics system effectiveness


Education:

BA/BS degree and 10+ years of experience required.

Clearance:

Active Secret clearance required. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.
