This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUN MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION,and performing common tasks as a Production Machinery Mechanic including: (1) Installing, aligning, troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, and testing machinery and equipment such as a numerically controlled five-axis machining center;2) Applying working knowledge of machinery and mechanical principles to inspect and troubleshoot assigned machinery and equipment; 3) Reassembling and installing assigned machinery and equipment to maintain accurate alignments and precision tolerance between respective mating parts; and (4) Performing operational and functional tests of assigned machinery and equipment to ensure proper and safe operation. Additionally, you work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.

- You will repair, maintain, install and overhaul a variety of complex multi-axis, multi-function production machinery and equipment.
- You will install, align, troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and test usually complex machinery and equipment.
- You will troubleshoot machinery and equipment by applying in-depth working knowledge of machinery and mechanical principles and use of test equipment.
- You will test equipment and isolate source of defective operation or cause of breakdown.
- You will provide technical assistance and contribute to the task as a working member of the team.
- You will ensure safety and housekeeping rules are followed.
- You will answer questions of workers on procedures, policies, instructions, or other directives.
- You will accomplish other duties as assigned.
