***This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications: Fire Inspector I, Fire Inspector II, Fire Instructor I, HAZMAT Awareness, HAZMAT Technician, and NR EMT-Basic certifications. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC, or ProBoard to meet the requirement. If you do not possess all of the above certifications you will be rated ineligible.***
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Conducting fire safety training to groups; 2) Eliminating or reducing hazards where the expectancy and potential for severity is high; 3) Inspecting buildings for potential fire hazards (e.g. obstructed exits, presence of combustible materials, etc.); 4) Adapting fire protection/prevention techniques to correct conditions or hazardous situations; and 5) Responding to emergencies to conduct firefighting duties.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). PPP applicants will be placed at the FPL, if determined Well Qualified (WQ). To receive priority consideration, the FPL must be the same grade level or equivalent of the retained grade or the grade held immediately prior to separation.
- You will inspect fire protection systems (sprinklers, standpipe, dry chemical, pre-action systems, etc.) to ensure systems are operation on a recurring frequency.
- You will interpret national, local, federally, OSHA, and EPA fire codes, standards, regulations, building codes, and technical orders to prevent uncontrolled fire, limit fire spread, and provide safety from fire.
- You will locate, isolate, and identify actual or potential fire hazards, and initiate appropriate action to control and abate the hazards in accordance with DoD, Navy, NFPA, OSHA, EPA, and other applicable standards.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

- You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
