Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Trellix Administrator/Operator to join our defense agency's cybersecurity team. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in Trellix solutions to optimize, maintain, and enhance the agency's endpoint security posture, with a special focus on remediating legacy deployments and supporting secure cloud expansion. This role is ideal for someone experienced in managing enterprise security in regulated government environments, eager to apply their skills within Agile teams using Jira.
Key Responsibilities
• Trellix Platform Management:
Manage, maintain, and optimize Trellix (formerly McAfee) endpoint security solutions-including policy configuration, agent deployment, and module upgrades-across complex, hybrid environments.
• Deployment Cleanup & Optimization:
Perform comprehensive reviews of existing Trellix deployments, identify inefficiencies, remove obsolete policies/agents, remediate misconfigurations, and document changes for audit and compliance purposes.
• Oracle Cloud Security Integration:
Support the secure migration and operation of Trellix agents and policies for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) workloads; ensure cloud-hosted resources maintain compliance with agency security standards.
• Compliance Monitoring:
Leverage Trellix tools to track and report endpoint compliance, vulnerability status, and incident response activities per agency or DoD requirements.
• Agile Project Support:
Participate actively in Agile teams; use Jira to manage tasks, backlog, and document system updates or incidents.
• Incident Support:
Investigate, triage, and resolve escalated security issues, collaborating with IT and cybersecurity teams as needed.
• Documentation & Knowledge Sharing:
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for SOPs, system architecture, policy changes, and knowledge bases for future reference and audits.
Preferred Certifications
• Trellix/McAfee Certified Product Specialist or similar vendor credential.
