Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to support a federal client and their mission‑critical systems that safeguard our Homeland in Colorado Springs, CO. In this role, you will design, implement, secure, and maintain complex enterprise network infrastructure. You will serve as a technical expert, drive network optimization, and provide advanced troubleshooting and mentorship across the engineering team.
*This position requires an active Secret Security Clearance*
Responsibilities:
• Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN devices.
• Monitor and optimize network performance.
• Troubleshoot complex issues using logs and tools such as Wireshark.
• Perform capacity planning and bandwidth management.
• Integrate network infrastructure with cloud and other IT systems.
• Maintain network documentation and diagrams.
• Mentor junior engineers.
• Manage tenant network segments, load‑balancing services, and IP address inventory.
Required Qualifications:
• Active Secret clearance
• U.S. Citizenship only (no dual citizenship)
• Bachelor’s degree + 12 years of experience, or equivalent experience
• One of: CCNP, CCDE, or CCIE
• Within commutable distance to the location site
• Ability to support 24x7x365 environments and participate in on‑call rotation

Compensation & Benefits:
Target Salary: $165,000 - $180,000
Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, Sick Leave if required by law, and Holidays.
